Kevin was born into this world at St. Francis Hospital in Wichita, Ks. On

February 2, 1970.  He was a bouncing baby boy weighing 8 lbs. 10 1/2 oz...  The hospital nursery placed him next to a 5 lb. baby and the comments from the nursery window were “That is the Rose Hill Coaches SON—next full back”.  He was blessed with a sister/Janet that was 10 years old at the time and wanting a baby sister, however she fell in love with her baby brother. He also had a brother/Rick that was 9 years old that later taught him to catch & carry snakes around to bother his mother & sister. Rick also taught Kevin patience when his toys came apart it was Rick that patiently fixed them.   He was loved by ALL and of course growing up he always felt like he had FOUR BOSSES!!!  Kevin Loved Family but Loved his Space too.

Kevin had to watch his Big Sister & Brother play so many ballgames and his Father Coach that I was not sure if he would ever like to play ball but because Mother was a ball player he did learn to play all sports. He started out in Junior Golf at age 12 and grew to really Love to play Golf all over the world.  I received a very exciting call one night and to quote him “Mom I had a hole in one on Germany golf course today”, of course because I was not a golfer, he did not think I knew just how special a hole in one was.

Kevin graduated from South East High in 1988. Attended El Dorado Junior College for one year and then joined the Air Force.  He managed to go straight out of basic training to Base Torrohorne in Spain. During the next fourteen years he was stationed in Crete, Germany, & Tucson with many, many tours from those bases all over the world.  His last 2 1/2 years were in Kuwait working for a Military Contractor.  Therefore, Kevin has many friends all over the world and I do hope they can find this web site and share some of their “Kevin” memories.

Kevin loved his animals.  His first dog was Champaign and she lived for 17 years but I did have to be put her to sleep before he returned home from his first overseas tour of duty.  Then he just thought he needed Coty when he was a junior in High school.  Coty was a bigger dog that was a Husky/Cocker mix.  He lived to be 12 years old.  Then we have the current famous “World Traveling Cat” named Cobolt!!!

Kevin's cat, Cobolt, is a world traveler.  He is a large gray cat that was born in Crete and his father was the air force base mascot.  He's a big breed of cat and weighs 25-30 pounds.  When Kevin was transferred from Crete to Germany, he drove so he could take Cobalt in the car.  Cobalt didn't like driving on the Autobahn and dug his claws into Kevin's neck while he was driving.  When Kevin returned to the states and was stationed in Tucson, AZ the cat had to be quarantined before coming to the US.  When he could come into the US a friend of Kevin's, Bernie came for a visit and brought Cobolt.  When Cobolt was a young cat, he used to jump the backyard fence at Kevin's condo and roam the neighborhood.  One of Kevin's neighbors was a cat lover also and would feed him when she saw him out and about. Cobolt has found a new home with Kevin’s wonderful friends Tom & Ida at Sierra Vista, AZ. They also worked in Kuwait with Kevin.

One year Kevin was home on leave here in Kansas during deer hunting season and Rick talked his brother into going deer hunting with him.  Rick got a deer and they took it back to their parent’s garage and proceeded to skin the deer.  Kevin really hated doing this, but he helped his big brother because he loved him.  The next time Kevin was home during hunting season, he told his Mom that he knew what he wasn't going to do, he wasn't going deer hunting with his brother again!

KEVIN flew away from us on Friday August 10, 2007 in Tucson, Arizona at Tucson Medical Center with his Mother, Father, Brother, Sister & very special friends by his bedside. He was born in Wichita, Kansas and left us at the young age of 37 years old.  However, he had traveled & seen more of the world than most of us will ever see due to his Air Force Career and other recent jobs.  He is now with JESUS!

Kevin was always loved and very special to his family & friends.  He was always the peace maker and he made a kind, generous, successful young man.  He was a true gentleman.  He is survived by his father Richard E. Boswell; mother Beverly A. Boswell, Sister Janet G. Webster of Rose Hill, Ks. brother Ricky W.  & Gina Boswell of Derby, Ks.  He also leaves behind three nieces & one nephew; Carly & Devin Boswell, Mackenzie & Makayla Webster, who loved him very much.  He also has Aunts, Uncles and many cousins who will also miss him.

I love this by Grace E. Easley

“WINGS AGAINST THE SUN”

Forever earthbound are my fee,

Upon the rocky road ahead.

But high among the clouds, my thoughts,

And so my heart is comforted.

And if one shoulder aches, I shift

The burden to the other side.

Remembering the times I’ve laughed.

And not the ones in which I’ve cried.

Too SHORT indeed these precious years.

To let a dream die needlessly.

Beyond tomorrow there awaits

A time and place designed for me.

And old hopes rising one by one

Are golden wings against the sun!
