I met Kevin on in Texas.  He was a wonderful, handsome and fun filled guy to be around.  He enjoyed hanging with Lori...I remember them coming to my office in that Mercedes convertable on a summer day to tell me they were headed to Fort Worth for the day, and how cute they looked with wind in their hair and smiles on their faces.

I can't believe my shock today when I randomly decided to google some old friends to see what they were up to and discovered that Kevin was no longer here. He and I were close friends and on-again, off-again sweethearts for about 10 years. I feel so lucky to have had him in my life while I did. I really loved him and have nothing but fond memories of Kevin. While our lives ultimately took us in different directions, we always cared for one another and remained on good terms.

In 1995, I spent a month with Kev in Germany and we had so much fun. I met Bernie, and of course Cobolt on that trip. I know some friends are now taking care of Cobolt and I am glad he has a good home. Kevin loved that cat! We took many sight seeing excursions around Germany, Luxembourg and also Brussels. He also visited me in Texas many times. I will look for photos to post in the coming weeks.

For everyone out there who loved Kevin, my prayers are with you. We will all miss him.

Today would have been Bos' 39th birthday. I'm spending part of the day remembering him fondly, looking at photos, and thinking of all the fun adventures we had. He came to visit us here in Monterey a while back, and if he were here today, we'd be at the beach for sure!  Fun ~ Sun ~ Laughter

Happy Birthday in Heaven Kevin!!!

I retired from the USAF in 1992 after 30 years and went into the insurance and investment business.  In 1995, my company asked me to go to Germany and I agreed as long as I could go back to Spangdahlem where I'd been the Base Commander in the 80's.  I met Kevin, probably on the golf course and we became great friends.  We played golf together a lot and spent our share of time on the 19th hole.  I guess the best moment came when we were playing the German course near Bitburg and on a par 3, The Boz got a hole in one.  Needless to say, the clubhouse made money on him that afternoon.  His German improved significantly that afternoon as everyone on the course came by to congratulate him.  One of my other neat memories is of him having my wife and myself over to his apartment where he cooked us a great dinner accompanied by fine German wine.  Kevin was a truly special young man and although there was a 30 year difference in ages, it was like having another son.  I know he's looking down on his Mom and telling her not to worry.

I was also stationed with "Boz" in Crete. He always had an easy smile and a great attitude. The group of friends from Crete probably still quote Boz’s greatest lines. He always had the perfect thing to say. When all of us female airmen were (as Boz said, yapping) He told us to stop yapping. We did for a few seconds and started back up again, so Boz said, "Shut up, shutting up." I dragged home two cats from Crete as well. Since I lived in the dorms, I used to have to bring them into the warehouse to run around. I always caught Boz playing with them. I'm sure they're probably descendants of Bob the Cat as well. The thought of Boz will always bring a smile to my face. Cheers to you.
